This is how morality evolve. Me strong. You do what I say. You no do. I kill you. That’s been like this for thousands of years.
Then we got innovation. People figure out that if morality is like that, there would not be any sucker that do programming, put PC on every household, and pay taxes. So it’s more like, behind me there is God. That God wants you to do the exact same thing I want you to do. If you don’t believe, I kill you. That’s been going quite well.
irst of all, let’s state the obvious.
People vote for their own interests. Morality is simply a balance of our interests and political correctness.
Not stealing, for example, can be thought of as morality. However, it’s also selfish interests. If we steal from each other we will all be worse off right?
Now why middle class vote for republican?
There are 3 things republican stand for:
All cultures are about the same. We kill males and save women and children because decisions are made by males and males see other males as competitors. The chinese do it. The jews do it. The muslims do it. The europeans do it.
If you have one simple theory that can correctly predict humans behavior at such a huge range, that’s one damn good theory. Those theory is evolution theory and economy. Put “maximize reproductive success” in economic’s utility function, tada, you got humans behavior.
