Will There Be Less Prostitution if Polygamy is Legal?

I think what the muslim really claim is that when polygamy is legal then prostitution will go away. That is very obvious because things that people do that used to be called prostitution is now called marriage.

However, that’s misleading. The issue is government still interfere in all kind of marriage whether polygamy and monogamy and that would still make most people worst off. It’s not the poly that’s the issue. It’s the “gamy” and government’s “blessing”, “interferences”, and “regulations” that comes with marriage that prevents people from maximizing their selfish interests.

Marriage and Free Market

That’s the sunday school version of marriage.

The #1 reason why people get married is parenthood. We don’t know who dad is. So the only way in ancient time to know who daddy is if to have the wife commit to fuck only one guy, namely her husband. You see why most cultures, like biblical culture, allow polygamy but does not recognize polyandry? Polyandry has no points. We know who the mother is. You don’t need marriage to settle inheritance in matriachal culture.

Before only rich men with inheritance need marriage. Paternity assurance means a lot to them.
