Perhaps we are all idolatrous. Nowadays, people worship images of God in their mind.

In ancient time, idolaters are people that make images of God or gods. Just like ancient people craft statues and call it God. Now, our religious leaders craft images of God in our mind and tell us that’s the true God.

I know those are just images because different people have different images.

In Christianity, God is a triumvirate. In Judaism, God is one. In Hinduism, God has many theories.

For socialists, God is a socialist demanding huge redistribution of wealth. For capitalists, God is a capitalist giving more to those who have more ensuring that the greatest among us are those providing the best service to the most customers.

They can’t all be right. At most, only one of the image is correct. Even then, it’ll still be an image.

Even if those are snapshots of the true God (or gods), it’s still just snapshots. Not to mention corrupt snapshots given that everyone has intensive to make that snapshots fit their interests.

Perhaps the savest way to ensure we’re not committing idolatry is to become an atheist. Or perhaps, being agnosis is the right way to go, believing in God without images or knowledge whatsoever.

Does God condone rape?

Young’s Literal Translation
‘When a man findeth a damsel, a virgin who is not betrothed, and hath caught her, and lain with her, and they have been found,

http://bible.cc/deuteronomy/22-28.htm

As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace.  If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor.  But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town.  When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town.  But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder.  You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.

http://www.evilbible.com/Rape.htm

My background is agnosticsm, christianity, and libertarian. So consider this a lense rather than the facto answer.

Here is my libertarian side speaking:
1. In NO culture, women own themselves. In US, for example, women cannot be a prostitute. That means the state, rather than the women, has power to decide what women can do. In a sense, effectively, the state, own the women. Told you I am a libertarian.
2. If women fully own themselves, they will all choose brad pit :)
3. In ancient time Israel does have debtor jail. It’s called slavery. Those who rape and can’t pay will be slave. What else do we expect?
4. In polygamistic society, women bride price are very expensive. Only the rich can get married and women prefer the rich anyway. I bet daddy took into account how hot daughtie is in measuring the bride price.

Now my atheist part is speaking
1. I don’t know whether God prohibit porn or homosexuality or not. Yahweh, the jewish God, is very different than God christians believe. Actually God christians believe is closer to Plato’s God or even Chinese’ Shang Ti. I do not know how much God wrote the bible.
2. People are homophobic and interpret scripture to fit their agenda. Those who are different than us vote for different party in election. That sucks for them. So they want that prohibited.
3. People interpret religions in ways that are politically correct. So I would expect christians will simply try to rationalize this forced to marry women. So most christians will say it’s not really happen, or it doesn’t applicable anymore. It’s called politically correct filter. They don’t teach this in sunday schools.
4. Morality is just the will of those who are in power. If your daughter got rape that means you’re weak anyway and you sort of “deserve” it. Learn kung fu next time. That’s the essence of all ancient religions. Really. All the killing of those who are different or believe differently are simply the killing of those who are weak and lootable. This explain away all genocide in the name of religion from Israelites genocide against the Canaites and German genocide against jews.
5. To be fair toward religion, without religion people would kill each other too. The athenes also kill and loot those they defeated in war. So, it’s really impractical to expect a culture to behave differently than the rest among wolves. Such culture will just go extinct.

Now my christian part want to say something:

Well, nothing. I don’t know. What to say.

Perhaps, God just want to be reasonable. In which case there is no way to know whether something is from God or from beer drinking corrupt political leaders. I wish I can know.

Why we let the rich get richer?

I think you should read all the other answers first. Like Eric. This is for the cynical:

It’s the cynical answer. I know. The more ethical answer is because it’s “fair”. However, for how “fairness” somehow becomes reality requires a little “process”. Fairness, is not just moral. It’s practical, and profitable. It took times for us to realize it, but we finally did.

The basic idea of is that under capitalism, people get rich through productivity. So it doesn’t matter how they get rich, they are benefiting everyone else.

The problem with that idea is, while seems fair and noble, is not actually how things work.

In ancient time, emperors are rich and unproductive and the people “let them” even more than people let the rich get rich now.

Why?

Emperors are strong. Some people know enough politics and enough business skills to lead. If some peasants would protest, emperors would kill them along with their families.

People are selfish. They do not max out their profit based on their income like in sunday school economy class. People maximize their profit based on their power.

Here is an easy way to see this. Deep inside, all species, including humans, just want to pass on their genes to the next. If we want to see how much power some men have, just look at the number of wives they have. Emperors have a lot. Capitalists do not. Capitalists, while rich, are not powerful, and hence don’t get “what they want” as much as emperors.

So issue is not merit. The issue is power. However, merit and power has a positive causality. To get power, you need people to agree. For people to agree you need to benefit them. That’s in a sense merit.

If we really do not like disparity of success, shouldn’t we complaint about disparity of power instead?

In fact, how power often override productively earned wealth is the very reason why people complain why the rich get richer. Complaining against the rich pays because the rich are weak and who knows we can rob them. Complaining against the powerful doesn’t.

So the question then become obvious. If the rich are weak anyway, why the mass, which are stronger, let them be rich? That seems to be the heart of the question. Forget about right and wrong. It’s not real. We’re selfish. Why do the mass let the rich be rich? Why not tax the rich to death and grab the money?

Actually they did. Ask jews, armenian, borgueis in China and tax payers in US.

But then the world stop doing that.

Let’s examine first how the world become the way it is.

300 years ago, a wise sage, Adam Smith, wrote wealth of nations. Now the best and brightest among us have choice. They can still make money productively or they can be dictators. Before the latter is the only choice. Before the only way to get truly rich is to be king. As the former start becoming lucrative, that’s what many smart people do.

Things don’t go as well as planned. Money is not equal with power. Well money is a form of power. There are far greater power than money. Namely political power.

Armenians and jews learn this the hard way. They earned money productively, cause resentment, and get killed.

However, the word seems to have a karma like behavior (though i still don’t think it’s as perfect as Buddha think it is).

Imagine the world where the productive get slaughtered. Would you bother being productive? Any society that fail to embrace free market are riddled with corruption, and political strife. Everyone is worst off.

We’re not dumb. We always come up with ways to move our self to equilibrium that’s “better”. What works in some is then tried in others. Through experience free market tend to produce good results. So the rest of the world follow and do it.

So the question of why we allow the rich to get richer is because it is toward our best interest to do so. Should we not, the best and brightest among us will become corrupt and dictators we will all pay the price.

Some may think that we shouldn’t because disparity of wealth is “bad”. Well, just look at emperors. Just look at disparity of wealth and power in socialist countries. Disparities always exist. Do we want that to happen because somebody is more productive or do we want that to happen because somebody has more gun?

Here is another way to look at it.

The smart can:
1. Be dictators
2. Be corrupt
3. Be productive

The mass can:
1. Support free market
2. Support socialism

For thousands of years we’re on 1,2 strategy. It’s natural then that we evolve into 3,2. It’s more lucrative.

Before, even though I am rich productively, I will still be affraid of being sent to some concentration camp by the powerful. Knowing that I try to be powerful, which is not very productive. It’s to the best interest of society then to guarantee my right to live and spend money as I please. As that get taken care of, I start becoming productive.

You see how the process works? You see how both businessmen and the mob benefited?

Now recently something even more interesting happen. It’s called globalization.

The best and brightest among us has the 4th option. They can live. They can move their factories to China to avoid minimum wage oppression, for example.

This put countries to be more like business. Each countries can only charge so much out of their productive members. Too much, and like customers they shop around.

Imagine the world before globalization.

I produced a light bulb. Someone else make better light bulbs. So I pay thugs to kill him. Now I sell more light bulbs. I generated more revenue and profit. If the extra money is bigger than the thugs’ cost, of course I do that.

In fact, that’s what happened in third world countries for years. Rather than spending resources productively, they spend resources bribing politicians to give them favors and quite often literally send thugs. Disparity of wealth happen anyway. Politicians get richer and richer.

It’s only natural. In a sense, it’s not too unfair. If the people are ignorance and resort to force, it’s natural that someone that’s not ignorance, namely the corrupt politicians, collect the money instead.

Political influence on biz created some form of niche that politicians simply fill, like businessmen.

Now under globalization, if I send thugs to beat up competing stores, I will still have to compete with chinese. No win solution. It doesn’t pay to pay thugs anymore.

Now those who used to be thugs and corrupt politicians obviously do not like globalization. That’s why they keep fighting for a while, become terrorists or something. But again, karma will work again. People are fed up with them. They’re getting killed. And good system, like free trades flourish again.

So the answer of why we let the rich, rich, is because they/someone else will be rich anyway even if we don’t let them. It’s just that they’ll be rich through ways not favorable to us.

Hei what about another option. I can lie. I can trick people that the government is fair and then screw the productive. Or I can trick the people that free market doesn’t work. Again, this gets difficult due to proliferation of internet. Truth prefails over falsehood thanks to abundant information.

Now, perhaps, just perhaps. The people still want to be a socialist. Well some socialism could work. Libertarian would argue it’s wrong, but I am a cynic. I care only about profits, not right and wrong.

As we see in Denmark it sort of work. However, that’s because people in Denmark is smarter. It takes skill to rob from the rich and give to ones’ self. Also it can only go so far because if they charge too much, the productive can always go somewhere else.

Most countries are not that smart. They do not know political science. Hell, they believe in religions. They do not understand that humans maximize profit. They think people are moral. They do not see that humans’ interests create morality. They think it’s God.

If I were a businessmen in that country, I would just bribe the religious leaders. Why bother being nice to the people if the people will blindly obey whatever nonsense the religious leaders spit out rather than seeing by themselves what’s good for them and whether they’re getting what they want.

This is of course what religious leaders want. That’s why, in countries like Indonesia we have pogroms against those who think differently. That’s why we have censorship that keep people in the dark. And that’s why Indonesians are not as rich as the rest of the world.

In a sense, that’s like karma too. The more ignorant the people, the poorer they will be. The more they tolerate or accept terrorism, the more terrorists will there be, raising biz costs.

After evolution and experience, the most lucrative system even for the poor is capitalism. Due to information age, everybody knows that. That’s why capitalism prefail everywhere. That’s why we let the rich getting richer. Because it’s most profitable for us, and because now we know it. Because human race has tried everything else and doesn’t perform as well as this.

Are Anti Porn Legislations Genocide Against the Pretty?

In ancient time, Nazi wanted to maintain a prejudice that Jews were not nationalist. The problem was that there were more german born Jews that died for germany, as proportion to their population, than even regular german on world war 1.

So, the Nazi simply buried that data from the public.

Now feminazis wanted to maintain a prejudice that love is blind. “Beauty is skin deep”, says those who do not understand evolutionary psychology. The problem was that there were more men attracted to beautiful girls than even normal girls. Those males are genetically hard wired to want genetically hard wired beautiful mates.

Obviously, money, friends, status, and everything will flock to those who are more attractive and can give more value to customers. Beautiful girls are not witches. They don’t sell their country to attract mates. They don’t trick people. They’re not evil. They’re just superior. So men flock them.

So feminazis burry the evidence of how attractive beautiful girls are. Some countries even force women to wear burqha rather than showing it all off.

Some european countries now prohibit thin women from becoming models. Is this a beginning of a world wide pogroms against those who simply are more competitive?

By the way, the rich also pay more tax per capita than the rest of the population. Still people believe that the rich are not nationalist. I guess bigotry never ends do they?

Will Mutual Understanding Lead to Mutual Profit?

In ancient time the idea that humans are selfish are also shocking. Properly understood we have capitalism and prosperity. Perhaps showing that humans are not only selfish and greedy, but also bigotic and hypocritical will help us to come up with capitalism ++ that leads to even more prosperity. I mean more understanding usually leads to better outcome.

Why People Want Religion

In ancient time, brahmana and ksatriya are the highest caste. However, they’re not very productive. Brahmana are simply religious leaders. Ksatriya are simply murderer.

The way is the same with everyone else. In Europe, knight and monks are highly respected. Rashidun Chalipate’s main income comes from looting neighboring countries. It lasts only 30 years before being replaced by a tyrant that slaughter Muhammad’s descendants. In ancient time, most countries, including muslim countries, are simply aggressive nations earning money through military campaign.

Yes they can be productive if they kill bad guys, but what happen when there are no bad guy left? What happen when the majority of the world are more interested in reaching prosperity rather than killing each other?

Those 2 will be useless.

Now, the greatest among us are those providing the best service to the most customer. Even porn stars and prostitutes are more respected than thugs or religious leaders.

So is it strange that religious leaders, and thugs, want to go back to the system that worked thousands of years ago?

Obviously they wouldn’t tell the people that they do it because they want to fill their coffer. That’s not sexy. If humans’ interests are the motives, religion is the ads. We don’t expect cigarette ads come and show, “Marlboro, contains only 5% nicotine, very addictive.” Eliminating religion is like insisting that all ads will be like that. Obviously it wouldn’t work.

And what about the people? Why would they select that kind of leaders?

Let’s face it. Most humans are not sexy. Recently, google build driverless cars. Under free fair competition, most people are just obsolete. No, I am not saying that crossbows are obsolete. I am saying that those who can only use crossbows are obsolete. Most people cannot compete with what the best and brightest can offer under free market. That’s just fact.

Say you oppose free sex. Say you said to the world, guys, we should prohibit free sex. If people are free to choose, and if all choices are seen, they won’t choose us. That’s not sexy isn’t it?

Of course they used religion. Alternatively they can say that porn cause rape, and we can see that it’s not true. Alternatively they can argue so much about how sex outside marriage demean women, but then we would recognize that as vague.

It only takes one country to try liberating their market, along with commercialized sex, and all sexiest most productive people will go there.

Their best strategy, from their point of view, is simply religion. For many reasons, people hate freedom. When all of us are free to choose, we don’t choose them.

Even when religions are gone, many would still opposes free sex. However, they can no longer come up with unverifiable excuses like that.

In fact, I seriously doubt atheism will bring peace. I saw that humans’ nature has very strong zero sum game component. It’s as if we are genetically predestined to trick and kill each other. Religions are not anomaly. It’s just the norm as we have seen from the last thousands of years.

Positive Attitude Error and Negative Attitude Error

That’s correct Mama. What I learn recently is that not looking at what might go right (I am not saying in government, they almost never go right, but in situation in general), is as wrong, if not more wrong than not looking at what might go wrong.

It’s so often we get screwed and choose not to trust or do biz with anyone. Before we know it, we’re not as rich as we should have been.

Anyway, my optimist attitude in your situation will be shooting down the rapists. My pessimistic just in case attitude would be to call 911 just in case I missed my first 6 shots.

I don’t trust government either. Not my government. And well, your government is not that different, to my surprise.

However, I sort of learn that things do go up. Not in government, and not for government. Actually government will get less. Things do go up because I have high hope with the market, not only being the best system, but sort of “defend” itself as life goes on.

Think it this way. It’s not a coincidence that socialist countries are ruled by dictators. It’s not a coincidence that mass murderers often have high risk of dying themselves when their political calculation went wrong.

When societies choose not to be fair, people will fine ways to maximize their profit through unproductive means. Everybody get screwed. Everybody then has interest to embrace a system that’s more fair. I am not saying a perfect libertarian ideal. That’s far ahead. But slowly and surely, better system works out. Also things that do go wrong, often address some greater wrong in the past, like in Karma. Karl Marx bitch about capitalism because in ancient time, wealth means land and land is seized through power. Of course, nowadays it’s not true. People doing Karl’s idea went broke. They all are following US footstep, which is better. Not perfect, but better. We’re not an idiot. All humans want to get rich too.

I am not saying that things will just go right by itself. Of course if you’re an idiot that just say aye to all false accusation against you then you’ll still be death. Here, by just being selfish (and not in objectivist sense, maybe more in Machiavelli sense), you sort of self balance the world. I am not a satanic by the way. I am more of an semi agnostic christian.

Also if you ignore illusions of fairness, legal, illegal, morality, prohibited, etc. You’ll see that there is some practical aspects that’s more real on that. And if you really see what you can actually do, you see that you are actually far more powerful and free than what others would ever allow.

If you believe emperor’s is God’s chosen, then you’ll be stuck in the mentality of doing what government’s said. However, if you see that governments are humans, just like you. You too can stab them in the back. You too can break their laws and not getting caught. You too have huge bargaining position. Then, as Jesus said, “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” Your government know you can do that. That’s why they “moderate” their laws on those they know are already enlightened.

Sometimes, huge amount of freedom is to just see things the way it really is.

In my countries, drug and porn is illegal. Everybody are told not to go to night club because bad people go there. You guess it. So what? We’re not free? The fruit of knowledge is the one’s forbidden. Go to any night club in Indonesia, and you’ll never watch striptease in US again.

Who says you don’t have a choice? Recently a guy that help companies avoid taxes are put in jail. So? He’s traveling to Bali watching Tennis after “permission”. I can only wonder why he doesn’t go to another country instead. I bet he can. Many suggested Suharto to be declared hero, after using his power to extract a lot of money from the population. Hell, you can even kill a judge in Indonesia, and get away within 5 years for good behavior if you’re as rich as Tommy.

Tax too high? Well, if you do it right, then all your expensive lunch is biz lunch. What about if you’re not consumptive? Say you own a land. The value of the land go up. Do you pay tax on that? Say you spend money on advertising, your expected value of future cash flow go up. Do you pay tax on that?

Government knows that if there is no “steam” valve, the kettle would explode. For those who are enlightened the deal is sweeter.

If government demand too much against foreign investors, those investors would just leave. Or what about those that know that they too can harm others through politically correct means? Yea… Those dictators, corruptors, are getting sweet deals.

Jesus is quite right when he said that we have to pay what we have to pay. The question is, do we really have to? Quite often no. If anything, we can be paid rather than paying. It’s a choice too.

So who do we fight for? For ourself? No need. We can be the dictator himself, if we want to. For the world? Well, it’s the population that’s stupid enough demanding bigger government. Me, I just help my self, my family, my friends, and perhaps, fellow libertarian. The rest are just vermin to me.

Perhaps the problem with libertarians is that we are too good we do not want to harm others. The truth is, in the world full with evil, you’ll just get screwed offer if you’re the only sheep, or hedgehog. Open our eyes. See how everything is part of the game. Government cannot prohibits anything. Government can only provides intensives not to do things too often, and too openly.

We under estimate our politicians’ intelligence. We fail to realize that the people themselves are corrupt too.

As times goes by, I see that the market self enforce it self through less violent means. In Europe, people can vote with their foot. That’s the main, if not only, reason why europes get so advance. The other cause is they don’t get fucked over by mongols.

Globalization will mean that. Anyone gets screwed by their government can move somewhere else. Of course, if all government in the world is too bad for your standard, maybe your standard is the one too high? It’s like trying to buy apple for 1 cents. If no body is selling it for 1 cents, maybe the price is indeed 50 cents. The same way, no government is perfect just like no private biz is perfect. But competition among government will force each government to get more and more streamlined. Tax will drop. Marriage institution will go away. Prostitution will be legal. Porn will be more common.

At the end, people will be some form of customers, or stock holders of governments. The inefficient government will see their most talented businessmen, and most beautiful women moving out somewhere else. It’s happening.

Israel, for example, is a sample of a “relatively libertarian” countries. Jews got fucked over everywhere so they make their own country. I bet they don’t complain a lot as you guys when their so called country has income tax, for example. Just make more money and have fun.

As for rand paul. I like his attitude of rejecting the 2nd part of civil right movement. Yea he backed down. So what? It’s still a positive step compared to the rest.

[quote author=MamaLiberty link=topic=7875.msg35558#msg35558 date=1289926807]
genepool, sorry – I was being pretty flippant there.

But I think it goes a lot deeper than “positive” or “negative” thinking, important as that is.

First requirement for liberty and prosperity is self ownership and self responsibility. Without that, you’re a sitting duck for every snake oil salesman who comes along or gets “elected.”

Then, you MUST look at what doesn’t work, the down side, the negative… in order to learn and remember what happened and avoid doing it again. Don’t know about you, but I don’t want to relearn about hot stoves by putting my hand on it, each and every day. We must learn from experience, both good and bad.

Which isn’t to say that we must dwell on it and moan about it and flail around in our guilt for bad decisions. Not at all. The people who do that are actually those who think someone else should be responsible and “fix it,” rather than being self responsible and saying, “what next? Let’s try….”  …as you did.

There is a thin line, often, between self confidence and arrogance, assertion and imposition, aggression and self defense. We’d all like to think of these things as pure and easily determined, but 64 years of life has taught me it’s not that simple. We must examine those things and our actions/responses often, and many times agree to disagree.

So yes… prepare for the worst and expect the best. Just be prepared to accept the fact that the worst actually does still happen sometimes. Far too many people THINK they’ve prepared for bad things and times, but it was all superficial and they were fooling themselves.

Are Religions Getting Worse?

The christians often talk how often the brightest scientists are christians. Even Adam Smith didn’t really write wealth of nations based on math alone, but is motivated by christianity.

The muslims often talk about how in ancient time, muslim civilization are very advance relative to their peers.

A long time ago, “Protestant work ethic,” motivate Protestants to work more diligently and earn more money.

Jesus’ words that the greatest among us should be those who serve become a basis for capitalism.

In fact religions used to be capitalists’ main ally against communist hordes.

Nowadays, muslim religions are tell tale justification for terrorism, which is not part of market mechanism.

Christians simply demand less and less porn interfering with others’ choice to enjoy their live.

Naturally, countries run based on religious dogma earn less per capita income despite their often higher oil reserve.

Religious norms are often no longer compatible with free market, choice and productivity anymore.

What happened?

Let’s examine a seemingly different issue. In a seminar a speaker told me that in the “good” old day we can lend money by just shaking hand and things will work “fine”. Nowadays, people go through contract, with exit clauses, and check credit rating.

The speakers say things are getting worst. We can’t trust others anymore.

Perhaps the 2 problems are related.

The issue is competing market and techniques. Existence of a better technique or market, drive all the good deals to the better market. That left only the worst of the worst in the original market.

In the absence of a better market, we can often found gems in the original market. In ancient time, before the existence of credit rating, we can indeed shake hand and get an agreement and get paid.

Sometimes deals go well. Sometimes not. On average, because there is no better way anyway, we still make money. Because we only lend money to those we know, chance is we still get good payment rate and things still go well.

Kong Fu Chu said that it’s better to be betrayed by your friends than not to trust them. Around 2500 years ago, he could be right. That guy was pretty wise folks, for his time.

But things were not really better in the past. Interest rates were way higher. People were poorer. One reason is because lender needs to charge higher rates to compensate for the deadbeat borrowers.

Then we got credit rating and enforced contract. Any potential borrowers that are responsible to pay do not mind putting their neck on their mouth is. In exchange of that they get lower rate.

That left only crooks on the “shake hand” market.

The result is both way. In one way interest rates drop. Those who pay their loan got good credit rating. Overall credit market becomes more efficient. We all become more prosper.

But yea, you just don’t shake hand anymore. Those who insist on not signing contracts are usually the worst of the worst due to this adverse selection problem.

Shake hands, that used to be profitable, become bad.

The same way with religions.

Imagine a world where there is no rule not to steal from others. We would all steal from each other. Then we would all be poor. Well, our ancestors were indeed far poorer than us don’t they? That’s because they do not have rules against stealing and robbing from each others’ tribes.

However, on local level, things sort of work out. Tada, fortunately someone tell our ancestors, rightfully or wrongfully, that God wants us not to steal from each other.

In ancient time, there is no science or game theory. Saying God says so is the only way to convince people. So rules that bring prosperity, like not stealing, do come out of religions. Societies with better rules grow stronger.

Faith wasn’t that bad. If the idea was bad, then countries that practice it would be out of biz, replaced by “better” countries that embrace better ideologies. Of course, in ancient time, ideologies simply mean religions.

Religions spread along with the might and prosperity of those who follow it. “Bad” religions that suggest unfair laws that encourage stealing for example, get mowed down by societies that is fairer.

When it comes to encouraging prosperity, and cooperation, religions used to do quite a good job, for its time. All religions that are common nowadays are religions that used to sort of “work.”

Then something happen. A new market of idea show up called science. Well science and internet I suppose, where everyone gets ideas and information more quickly.

Knowledge and truth that used to be elusive become easy. Ease of information flow facilitates better cooperation resulting in more wealth.

Unlike religious ideas that are often hard to test, scientific data are much easier to verify. We now have the power to store, process, and distribute info way beyond what our ancestors can.

Bad ideas simply disappear under the light of this information. As time goes by, only the best of the best theories and ideas show up. If ideas are false or doesn’t work, it’s gone quickly.

Nowadays, Nobel Prize winners on economic and experts at game theories explain to us what the right ideology is based on math.

Because of that, overall things are going well. Technology becomes more advance.

That being said, those who have the best ideas no longer used religions to justify their point. We no longer need 10 commandments to convince us that free market rules sort of work. Free market works because, well, duh….

But then what would those with the worse of the worse idea go? What about those who care only to motivate the rest of us to sacrifice our interests for theirs? Obviously they can’t use science. So where did those ideas go? Religions.

Those who only want to screw everyone else demand that their ideas are respected and held sacred by everyone. Why? Because if we do not think that their ideas are sacred, we would question it and we would see that they’re just screwing us.

Before, even good ideas are held sacred. Now, only the worst of the worst ideas are held sacred. Good ideas do not need sacred status because it can easily withstand the scrutiny of scientific light.

Proponents of those ideas don’t care if people are cursing their ideas. They’re right anyway and want the light to shine more brightly so everyone can see how right they are.

Overall things get better. We become more prosper.

It’s just that as our knowledge shine and shine more brightly religious ideas simply get worse and worse.

Religions Do Not Create Politic. The Other Way Around is More True.

I think there is a porn bible. I forget who the comic writer is. The name start with R. It shows actual bible stories with lots of explicit nudity. Something like Milo Manara.

Bible actually tell us (well, Jews actually), to attack another country, kill all the male, and rape all the virgin females. What religion says and what bible says have little in common. Religions are always ways to justify political motives.

Because the political structure in ancient time differs than now, it’s only natural that religions then have different interpretation now than before. In ancient time, the king rules. So polygamy is okay (because all kings want it). Now, we are democracy. So polygamy is not okay because swing voters don’t like it. Very simple.

Pick any 2 countries with Similar religion and you see differing custom. In Indonesia, which is democratic by now, polygamy is very politically incorrect that congress start making laws banning it. In Saudi, a monarch, it’s a different story.

Pick any 2 countries with DIFFERENT religion, and you’ll see the same custom. Polygamy is politically incorrect in both Indonesia and China, for example.

If you ask a Christian what the bible says, you can predict what his political agenda is. That’s it. People prohibits porn and go to war not because they are pious. They do so because they hate porn and like war.

I am talking to some Jewish friends that claim that hebrew bible has different meaning than the way it’s translated. Well, I’d like to know if there is some 5-10% trace of a REAL GOD, in judaism or whether it’s just another folklore. 90% of religions are definitely product of secular imagination.

What’s really funny is I saw a book about how a Christian writer use Solomo as a sample on how to get rich. I was like, Come the fuck on. Solomo got rich because he oppressed the people.

In fact, tax was so high during Solomo’s time that the kingdom split into 2. The “Shiah” Jews, also called Judah, believe that king must be David’s decendant, and the “Sunni” Jews, called Israelites, or Samaritants then believe they can pick their own leader.

Huahem…. Again and again. Oh ya, they kill each other over dispute on whether God is in mount Zion or in mount Moriah or something. Just like Christians. Some cultures never change.

Are the Rich Less Generous

The problem is not people are less generous. People are MORE generous now than they are thousands of years ago. In ancient time, the poor got only 2% of money in Muslim countries.

Now we pay 30% income tax most of which goes into wealth redistribution. What else, given that the market can provide far superior service more efficiently anyway. So we are 15 times more generous.

World GDP is 300 times it was 200 years ago. Human race is 300 times richer.

If we have the same number of fuck ups now than we have 200 years ago, non of those fuck ups will be “poor” by 1800 standard.

So what’s the problem?

The problem is the fuck ups, irresponsible, lazy, stupid, socialists bigots out breed the prudent, smart, diligent and hard working. The problem is we got smart people like HaRRo that are too willing to sacrifice himself in altar of socialism to fed the parasites. Sorry HaRRo. We got to repent.

Anyone opposing freedom want to enslave others. Yielding to their kind is like cutting our own hand throwing it to lions hoping the lions will become vegetarian. If anything, the lions will just breed and breed and kill us.

If you run the fastest you simply have to show that you too can hit the hardest.

I love poor people. Many of them work hard for me and we both make a lot of money. None of those that work hard for me work as hard as me though. But well, we’re getting somewhere.

It’s the mindset that’s wrong. We encourage the poor to breed by subsidizing those that make kids. When subsidy is given, supply and demand curve no longer meet creating surplus of humans, causing unemployment giving rise to more justification for bigger government in never ending vicious poverty cycle.

Just pay anyone that don’t have kids and legalize commercial sex so the best brightest richest (like our mods) can knock up all the hot babes. Then encourage porn so no ugly women get laid. Hell those ugly feminists can always enjoy their right becoming astronauts, programmers, scientists, or some grenade thrower in the front line anyway. I totally support affirmative action for all womyn that want to throw grenade in the front line, if they’re ugly.

Within 1 generation, all kids will have rich smart dad and hot sexy mom. No need to resort to violent to “exterminate” those we deem inferior.

But even those benign peaceful method is politically incorrect. We’re like gladiator being forced to kill each other by our leaders with their irrational faith based “morality”.
