Imagine John
In so many ways, we all are like John. We serve the consumers through the market mechanism. We improve the economy. We sacrifice our time, and life for the ideal goals of higher humans’ living standard. But people like us are prosecuted day and night.
A thief does not have to confess his crime. A demon incarnate that stole my money just got away with it. Latter I heard a businessman get sued over millions of dollars of damage because he hired an ex convict.
However, thieves’ conviction records are not available in internet so it’s difficult to screen who are thieves who are not.
Also, it can be illegal not to hire a person because he is a thief.
Governments give tax cuts to those who hire thieves. This, of course, amount to implicit welfare for thieves.
For every dollar given to thieves, those are an extra dollar that could have been given to the productive and honest.
There are billions of honest productive workers and entrepreneurs that resort to consensual productive honest means rather than stealing, yet given choices, governments give tax cut to thieves.
This keeps going and none of us will earn our money honestly, we’ll all kill each other and rob each other. That’s what our laws really tell us to don’t they?
If those who run the fastest don’t hit the hardest, then success will simply be the bridge to gas chamber.
